I have been giving seminars to the bass-fishing community for over 30 years - both in formal and nonformal settings. Topics I have covered range from drop-shotting (I was the first to write on the technique in 2001 and one of the first to use the technique in the U.S. datig back to 1996) to boat maintenence, rod repair and building to custom tackle manufactoring.

Seminar Development
A professional angler is much more than a fisherman. Although they may have an uncanny knack to catch fish when others seemingly only practice casting, today's professional anglers must also be good at business if they want to make it in the industry.
Part of becoming that complete angler is being able to market oneself as someone who can do more than fish. More and more anglers at the club level up through the triple-A ranks are being asked by their sponsors to give seminars to anglers attending sport shows or local tackle shows. But, gone are the days where attendants were content with only "hearing" what a pro or local expert had to say, these days the audience wants to hear and "see" exactly what the presenter is offering.
Today's sport and tackle shows offer more in order to accomodate these new requirements. More of these shows come complete with casting tanks filled with bass that allow the presenter to not only talk but cast and visually show the audience how to work a bait. These venues also have conference rooms complete with computers and computer projectors that are available to the savvy professional or prostaff member who has a thumb-dive loaded with a Power Point presentation on the subject he or she wants to cover..
